The favourite sleeping position
she’s a real delight. At the moment she just eats, sleeps and poos. Finn is intrigued with his sister but not really that interested on the whole. She will be 2 weeks old tomorrow. Born one week overdue on 22nd May by cs weighing 9lbs 7oz! no wonder I was so uncomfortable at the end..

Sadly our little dog Douglas who was 15 1/2 yrs old passed away suddenly on Thursday evening. He’d been losing weight for a couple of months and was under treatment for suspected bowel disease which seemed to be stabilising him.. in the end though it was his heart that gave out. It was extremely quick which was a blessing but we are all still trying to come to terms with the fact he’s gone…
I keep expecting him to appear at our feet when we’re having our breakfast, lunch & dinners hopeful of scraps. Not to mention watching out for him trying to trip me up as I pottered around the flat or demanding attention when we’d get home from running errands.
He will be sorely missed but we do have our expected new arrival to the Kelly family to come. Yes he/she is not here just yet. So I am now officially the most pregnant I’ve been in my entire life and baby #2 is now a day overdue… hopefully not long before we have some happier news for you all.

Rest at peace my loyal loveable Douglas xoxox

Just a very quick post with photos of my enormous 39wk bump taken today… only one week till due date now and so far no signs of anything exciting happening.
Who knows when things will get going & i’m really hoping to not be in labour a week tomorrow as it is my birthday!! I would really like to keep that one day to myself
One way or another there’ll be a new arrival in the Kelly household no later than the 27th of May as that’s the latest date the hospital will let me go to before they want to do a CS….
Will keep you all posted when the time comes. Fi xoxox

Yummy orange sponges drizzled with a orange/sugar syrup and topped with dark chocolate.. freshly dribbled with Green & Blacks 70% dark chocolate first thing this morning. All they need to do is set and then devoured later on!
Inspired by Blotted copybooks delicious Jaffa loaf cake… The recipe for which can be found on her blog http://www.blottedcopybook.co.uk/jaffa-cake-loaf/
I was just too impatient to wait for a loaf cake to cook so I used the cake batter to do cupcakes instead… as they take only 20mins to cook in the oven
I know i’ve been a very sparse blogger during this pregnancy…
I didn’t realise how tired i’d be running around after Finn and being pregnant. There’s not long till my due date now… under 2wks to go till the 15th May!
I must take a bump picture this week to show you all as I look like i’m carrying a Zeppelin airship!

I’ve been a very bad blogger recently and many apologies for not posting for such a long time. It took ages for us as a family to recover from the repeats of Christmas illness which in the end saw pretty much all of us on anti-biotics to sort us out. Being ill with colds/chest infections/temperatures etc is hard enough… but especially hard when pregnant as there are so few medicines you can take! Paracetamol didn’t do a thing on the whole, trying to rest and get loads of sleep would have been great but pretty much impossible when your toddler is full of beans…
Time has just flown by and i’ve mainly been concentrating on getting ready for our new baby in May… so i’ve not been crafting that much and i’m endeavouring to get back to my projects very soon. Amazingly there’s only 11wks give or take a couple of days till our due date!!! I’m now in the last trimester (29wks out of 40) and my bump has suddenly been on a growth spurt. Sleeping is becoming more challenging as finding a comfy position that both me and the baby agree on is getting harder. Not to mention the all night aqua aerobics he/she gets up to which often wake me up going ouch and i’ve turned into a blast furnace at night… bun in the oven indeed! Oh and don’t forget the constant trips to the loo (day and night) because of now having a bladder the size of a pea
Our 20wk scan just before Christmas showed a totally healthy and happy little one and our DS was totally fascinated. He is beginning to understand the concept of mummy having a baby but when asked if he would like a baby brother or sister he is still adamant he wants a ball… in fact a yellow ball to be precise! Maybe his new little brother or sister will give him one when he/she arrives?!

Just a quick post to let you know I’ve not been posting as we’ve all been hit with the dreaded winter cold & flu for Christmas. Finn & I missed going to all the toddler parties and until today neither of us have been remotely fit enough to leave the house since our trip to the doctors on the 17th December. Finn fortunately was prescribed some anti-biotics which really made a difference but I wasn’t so lucky due to being pregnant and it’s taken until today for me to feel a glimmer of my normal self. Paul eventually succumbed to the germs yesterday and has been in bed since with a temperature of over 100. All this illness has seriously hampered my scarf progress but I must be feeling a bit better now as i’m starting to get twitchy hands again! I hope you all had a great Christmas & I wish you a wonderful New Year/Hogmanay if I don’t make it on again before then. Fi xxx

My Three Irish Girls Stash of Elenya 50%Alpaca/50%Merino. When I saw the Multi-colourway was called Fiona I just had to have it
I also ordered a matching cerise and pumpkin orange.
My plan was to use it for a felted project… but it’s absolutely perfect for the Feather & Fan scarf I’m trying out from the Beautiful Knits for Heads, Hands & Toes book… my December book review.
So now I’ve 3 projects on the go… Haggis the highland cow, Finn’s Christmas stocking & the Feather & Fan scarf. The scarf is knitted… which is something I’ve not done in years!
I’ve always been an extremely slow knitter so it will be interesting to see if I’m any faster these days. I’ll post my review at the end of the month with photos of how far I’ve got… as somehow I don’t think it will be finished in 3 wks

Eek! Slightly more of a colour run when it felted than I expected. The red isn’t so Christmassy and the cream… well it’s now more of a definite pink… even the snowman is the same shade (i’m not even going to bother photographing that). On the plus side the fringing felted extremely well and if this was done in a single colour it could work. But this wasn’t exactly the overall look I was going for so I think this time it’ll have to be a non felted pattern.
